Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka has signed a new contract with the Gunners that will run until June 2027.

The 21-year-old England international’s contract with Arsenal was due to expire at the end of next season.

Saka has been in blistering form this season scoring 14 goals and setting up 11 for his teammates in all competitions, and he became the first Premier League player to reach double figures for both assists and goals this season.

Saka’s performances have helped Arsenal go toe-to-toe with Manchester City for the Premier League trophy and although the trophy slipped away from them, he has helped them qualify for next season’s Champions League, for the first time since 2017.

Saka’s new deal is a boost to manager Mikel Arteta’s ambitions as the Spanish tactician has repeatedly said that he wants to tie down his important players to long-term deals with the club so that they can compete favourably and win some silverware.

Saka joins compatriot Aaron Ramsadale, and the Brazilian pair of Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhaes to have signed new long-term deals with Arsenal this season.

Having joined Arsenal aged just eight, Saka has progressed well from Arsenal’s academy over the years to become one of the best players in his position in the world and has become a fan favourite.

The 21-year-old has not shied away from showing his love for Arsenal, and it was indeed a question of when, and not if he would extend his stay at the Emirates.

“I’m just really happy. There’s been a lot of talking and it’s been a while, but I’m here now. I think this is the right club, the right place to make the next step. It’s a beautiful club – look where we are,” the elated Saka told Arsenal.com

He added: “For me, it’s about achieving my personal ambitions; how much I push myself and demand from myself each game, week in, week out. Then I have all the right people around me in terms of family, and when I come to the training ground, my teammates, the coaching staff.

“I think I have everything I need to become the best player I can be, and that’s why I’m happy to stay here and be here for the future because I really believe that we can achieve big things.”

Saka made his Arsenal debut in November 2018 and has gone on to make 178 appearances in all competitions since then.
