Bayern Munich has completed the signing of Borussia Dormund left-back Raphael Guerreiro.
The 29-year old joins the Bavarians as a free agent after having ran down his contract at Dortmund at the end of the last season.
He has put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will run until 2026.
The Portuguese fullback, who can also play in midfield reunites with Thomas Tuchel, who is currently the manager at Bayern. Tuchel brought Guerreiro to Dortmund seven years ago.
“When the call came from FC Bayern, my decision was made quickly. It’s an honour for me to play for this big club and I also really appreciate Thomas Tuchel from our time together at Dortmund,” the defender said in a statement.
“I’m a player who always likes to have the ball — it’s about dominating the game and I want to create chances.
“I will do everything to win as many titles as possible. That is the philosophy of FC Bayern.”
He joins Bayern after seven seasons at Dortmund, where he made 162 appearances in all competitions and scored 30 goals. He also won two German Cups in process.
Last season he featured in 27 games in the German Bundesliga and put in a league high 12 assists. He also scored four goals in addition.
Guerreiro becomes the latest Dortmund player to join Bayern directly with Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Mats Hummels the recently players to make that move.
He now becomes Bayern’s second signing this summer after midfielder Konrad Laimer was captured from RB Leipzig, also on a free transfer.
