Manchester United center back Raphael Varane has revealed his retirement plans! The 29-year-old who has played for only three clubs including Lens and Real Madrid says he will only retire at only one of those three.
The 2018 World Cup winner made his professional debut in France at Lens aged 17 before moving to Real Madrid where he spent ten years between 2011 and 2021, winning 18 trophies at the club.
He left Madrid in the 2021 summer, signing for the Red Devils where he is contracted until 2025.
“I will finish my career at Madrid, Manchester United or Lens. What is certain is that I will not play for another club,” said Varane. “Madrid seems complicated to me, because you don’t usually go back to them. The most important thing today is that I will retire at Manchester or Lens.
“I’ve been playing football since I was seven years old inevitably, there is a little apprehension, but not fear. Like any major decision in life,it requires careful thought and will be taken one step at a time.”
