Manchester United put up a spirited display in the second half as they beat Leeds 2-0 at Elland Road to go second in the Premier League standings.
Following a dull first half, Erik Ten Hag made tactical substitutions, taking off Jadon Sancho and Malacia for Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez which subs paid off as the Argentine netted one of the goals.
But It was inform Marcus Rashford who broke the deadlock in the 80th minute following Luke Shaw’s brilliant cross. Rashford headed home the opener with his 21st goal of the season.
Ten Hag’s men showed more intent for maximum points when Wout Weghorst’s pin point pass fell in the path of Garnacho who side footed a clinical effort to give United a two goal cushion.
United almost stretched the margin but were denied by VAR which ruled out 2 goals for offside.
That victory temporarily moves Man United to the second position ahead of Manchester City who play Aston Villa later in the evening.
Leeds meanwhile remain 17th.
