Real Madrid have announced a 22-man squad that is travelling to Rabat, Morocco for this year’s FIFA Club World Cup. Due to its status and coefficient, Real Madrid will start at the semi-final stage playing against Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Club captain Karim Benzema, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and defender Eder Militao have not made it to the squad due to injury, and will not travel to Morocco.
Here is the full squad:
Goalkeepers:
AndriyLunin, Luis López, and Lucas Cañizares.
Defenders:
Dani Carvajal, David Alaba, Jesus Vallejo, Jose Nacho, Alvaro Odriozola, Antonio Rüdiger, and Marvelous “Marvel” Garzon.
Midfielders:
Toni Kroos, Luka Modrić, Eduardo Camavinga, Federico Valverde, Aurelien Tchouameni, Dani Ceballos, Mario Martín, and Sergio Arribas.
Attackers:
Marco Asensio, Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo Silva, and Mariano Diaz.
There is a chance of Benzema, Courtios, and Militao travelling to Morocco to join Real Madrid if they recover in time before the final, also if Real Madrid beat Al Ahly tomorrow. That decision rests with the manager and fitness coaches.
Real Madrid are the most successful club in this competition, having won it four times, and they go into this edition as the outright favourites to win it.
