Real Madrid are serious in their pursuit of Harry Kane’s signature and have already prepared their first bid for the striker.
According to a report by Spanish sports outlet sport.es, Real Madrid’s first bid for Kane is €80 million. However, this is way below what Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values the England international, which is over €120 million. It is understood that they could compromise around the €100 million figure.
Kane’s contract expires in June next year and the player has not yet decided whether to extend or not. If he doesn’t extend and Tottenham don’t let him go this summer, he will be a free agent so this window could be the last chance for Tottenham to cash in on him.
Real Madrid and Tottenham have done business in the past but they have all been big fee transfers. Los Blancos coughed out £30 million for Luka Modric in 2012 and a then world record fee of £85 million for Gareth Bale in 2013 so they definitely know that Levy doesn’t let his star players go on the cheap.
It is understood that Real Madrid’s initial proposed contract offer for Kane will run for three years and maintains his £10.4 million annual salary. Of course, this is just a proposal so the player could accept it or ask for more, that is if he agrees to move to the Spanish capital.
Kane scored an impressive 30 Premier League goals last season (2022/23), only beaten by Erling Haaland’s 36.
