Bayern Munich’s attackers Sadio Mane and Leroy Sane were involved in a fight in the dressing room after their team was beaten 3-0 by Manchester City in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night.
During the physical fight, Mane punched Sane and made his lip bleed, according to Sky Germany, and the two players had to be separated by their teammates in order to stop the fight.
Prior to this, the two attackers who played against each other for Liverpool and Manchester City respectively a few seasons ago had got involved in an on-pitch argument and it has now become apparent that whatever they were arguing about had to be settled with punches after the match.
It is not yet clear what caused the fight as Bayern Munich have not yet commented on the incident. However, Sky Germany further reported that after flying back to Munich, Mane was picked up privately from the airport while Sane rode in the team bus with other teammates.
Bayern Munich will host Manchester City next week on Wednesday, April 19, in the second leg of the tie and new coach Thomas Tuchel will want to have all his players in the right state of mind and firing on all cylinders if they want to overturn the three-goal deficit and advance to the semi-finals of the competition they have won six times.
