Heung-min Son has been voted the Premier League Player of the Month of September for the fourth time in his career.
The Tottenham Hotspur captain scored six goals in four games in September to help his side continue with their unbeaten start to the season.
Son netted a hat-trick against Burnley at Turf Moor, before a brace in the north London derby against Arsenal. His other goal came in Spurs 2-1 victory over Liverpool.
To win this award, he beat off competition from Julian Alvarez, Jarrod Bowen, Mohamed Salah, Pedro Neto, Ollie Watkins and Kieran Tripper, who all were excellent September.
The award puts Son in an elite company of Allan Shearer, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank Lampard, Paul Scholes, Mohamed Salah, Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Jamie Vardy as the only players to have all won this award four times.
Only six players have won the award more times than the aforementioned. Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane have each won it seven times; Steven Gerrard and Cristiano Ronaldo each six times each while Wayne Rooney and Robin Van Persie are each five-time winners.
This is the second time a Spurs player is winning this award this season, after James Madison won August’s prize.
In the same development, Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has won the Manager of the Month award.
He becomes the first manager to win the award in the first two months in the Premier League, having also claimed the August award. He is also the first Australian ever to win it.
He managed Spurs to an unbeaten September as they won three and drew one of their four games to move top of the Premier League log.
