Erik ten Hag has revealed that some of his players, in the last few weeks, have shared suggestions on boosting Manchester United’s current run of poor form.
The Red Devils have so far lost 10 games in all competitions, and currently sit seventh in the Premier League ahead of upcoming matches against Chelsea and Bournemouth before a crucial Champions League encounter with Bayern Munich.
But despite their current predicament and his admition that some of his playera have approaches him, Ten Hag believes his team is on the right path to success.
“I listen always to my players and I give them always opportunities to tell, if the players have a different opinion of course I will listen,” Ten Hag told a news conference on Tuesday.
“But they haven’t told me. Or maybe one or two. But it is about in general, the majority, they want to play like this — proactive, dynamic, brave, that is what they want.
“You can see the players are behind it because of the performances against Everton and Galatasaray. You see we are really improving.”
Man United are already nine points adrift of Premier League leaders Arsenal and are on the brink of Champions League elimination as they sit bottom of group A with just a game left to play.
Ten Hag however, insists that his team is on an upward trajectory to provide long term success to the club.
“We know we are still in transition but we are in the right direction,” he said.
“You see it how we construct a team, develop it, the team is progressing, how young players are coming in and you see the potential and how they can contribute to a very successful Manchester United for the future.”
Ten Hag and his United troops will face Chelsea on Wednesday evening at Old Trafford.
