Kylian Mbappe has pledged allegiance to Paris Saint- Germain, insisting that his aim is to win the UEFA Champions League trophy with the club.
Despite their ‘Big boys’ status, PSG have never won the Champions League! The closest they got to winning it was in 2020 when they reached the finals. They however, got beaten 1-0 by Bayern Munich, and now Mbappe is determined to make history with the club.
While being interviewed by France 3, the 24-year-old said; “The next step? Winning the Champions League.
“I have already made a final, semi-final, quarterfinal, round of 16. I’ve done everything except win. That’s all I need and I hope it will be as soon as possible. Where will it be? In Paris. I’m Parisian and under contract. So it’s PSG.”
It should be noted that Mbappe has long been linked with an exit from the Parc de Princes, with Real Madrid heavily linked, despite penning down a three-year contract with the French giants last may.
Mbappe is also reported to have feuded with several teammates in the PSG dressing room this season, fueling suggestions that he is unhappy at the club.
Last week, the 24-year old criticised PSG’s season ticket renewal campaign ( for the 23/24 season) which heavily focused on his input.
The French captain is currently Ligue 1 joint-top scorer ( with Jonathan David) with 19 goals in 26 games and has 31 goals to his name in all competitions. He is also PSG all-time top goalscorer with 202 goals in just 252 games.
