Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy has met with Bayern Munich chief executive Jan-Christian Dreesen to discuss the possible transfer of Harry Kane.
According to Sky Sports, no meaningful progress was made during the meeting as Tottenham insist they do not plan to sell their star player during this transfer window. However, dialogue between the two clubs remains open.
It should be noted that Bayern have so far submitted two bids to Tottenham for the Kane, with the latest being in the region of €80 million plus add-ons.
Kane, who is the record all-time scorer for Tottenham with 280 goals, scored an impressive 30 goals for his club last season as they finished eighth on the Premier League table. His contract expires next year in June and talks over a new contract are still far from bearing any fruit.
Nevertheless, Tottenham will continue to try and persuade the striker to extend his contract. Reports came out early this week saying that Spurs are proposing to offer him a position at the club once he hangs up his boots.
New Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou told reporters during a press conference early this week that he wants Kane to be part of the new project he wants to build at the club that if according to plan, could result in silverware that has eluded the England captain all his career.
As Tottenham start a new project, Bayern already have a winning formula both domestically in Germany and in Europe so this could entice Kane and have him put in a transfer request to join the German club.
