Bayern Munich have seen a formal offer for striker Harry Kane rejected by Tottenham.
The Bundesliga champions submitted an official offer for the England captain worth €70 million (£60m) including add-ons but was immediately rejected by the Premier League club.
Harry Kane has a remaining contract on his current deal with Tottenham Hotspur, but Bayern are planning to make him their new forward.
The 29-year-old has also been monitored by Manchester United for a while, with former manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer expressing interest while still at Old Trafford, and current boss Erik ten Hag is also a known admirer.
Manchester City previously explored the possibility of signing Kane two years ago but never acted on it. Instead, they went on to sign Norwegian marksman Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund the following summer.
Early this month, several reports linked Kane to a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid after head coach Carlo Ancelotti told the club’s board he wanted to sign him at a key meeting that discussed future transfers. Real Madrid have since completed the signing of Kane’s compatriot Jude Bellingham from Borussia Dortmund.
Tottenham missed out on Champions League football last season after finishing 8th in the Premier League despite Kane’s 30 goals. He has scored 267 goals for Tottenham Hotspur in all competitions but has not yet won a single trophy.
All the clubs that have shown interest in Kane have won a trophy in recent years so it is yet to be seen if he will walk away this summer in search of some silverware. Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants over £100 million in transfer fees for his player.
