Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur are the best counter-attacking team in Europe despite their recent poor form.
The Reds face Spurs in a crucial game for both sides on Sunday with top four still in sight for both teams.
Both sides are out of top four, but Liverpool has been on a brilliant run of form in the last couple of weeks, winning their three consecutive Premier League games against Leeds, Nottingham Forrest and Westham.
For Spurs, they have been horrible in the last six games having won just once- a dip in form that has seen them drop out of top four in favour of Manchester United and Newcastle.
They are currently managerless after interim boss Cristian Stellini was earlier this week sacked, leaving Ryan Mason temporarily in charge.
But despite their dip in form, Klopp still claims his side will be facing “the best counter-attacking side in Europe by some distance” on Sunday
“This is a season where a lot of things are difficult for a lot of teams. We have our problems, Chelsea have problems, Tottenham have problems. It is not cool for us but opens it up for other teams and Champions League spots are there to grab for other teams,” Klopp said while addressing the press in his pre-match conference
“Little mistakes can cause massive problems. I don’t know anything about that for Tottenham, but they showed they are outstanding last night. I will be prepared for the best possible Tottenham side. They are the best counter-attacking side in Europe by some distance.”
The first leg between Spurs and Liverpool ended in a 2-1 victory for the Reds, with Mohammad Salah scoring both goals for the Klopp’s side in London.
