Tottenham Hotspur have completed a clean sweep of the first monthly Premier League awards of the 2023-24 season, with James Maddison and Ange Postecoglou taking home the August prizes.
Maddison took home the Player of the Month award after helping Spurs make a strong start to the campaign by scoring one goal and making two assists.
He made two assists on his debut against Brentford as Spurs drew 2-all before also helping his side in their 2-0 victory over Manchester United.
His first Spur’s goal came away at Bournemouth on August 26, before also starting September with a goal in a 5-2 thrashing of Burnley
He beat off competition from Bryan Mbeumo, Kaoru Mitoma, Rodri, Taiwo Awoniyi and Jarrod Bowen to win the first award of the season.
After having helped Spurs to 10 points in their opening four games, Postecoglou has been named the Premier League Manager of the Month.
In those four games, they drew with Brentford before beating Manchester United, Bournemouth and Burnley.
In all those games, they have found the back of the net at least twice, and their tally of 11 goals is only bettered by Brighton and Hove Albion’s 12.
Postecoglu beat Mikel Arteta, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola and David Moyes – who all had a excellent first month of the season to win this award.
After winning these two awards, Tottenham will return to action on Saturday when they host Sheffield United at Tottenham Hotspurs Stadium.
