Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich are interested in signing England captain Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer to improve their attacking power next season, Soccer Scoop has learnt.
According to reports from Germany, Kane is seen as the right person to fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski who joined Barcelona last summer.
Kane has scored more than 200 Premier League goals for his current club and Bayern are confident he can score as many in the Bundesliga.
Kane’s current contract with Tottenham expires in June next year and club Chairman Daniel Levy has a big decision to make on whether he cashes in on the 29-year-old talisman this summer or tries to convince him to extend and if he doesn’t, will walk away free at the end of next season.
This contract situation gives Bayern Munich confidence they can secure the striker’s signature.
The striker also has a big decision to make. He has scored all sorts of goals for club and country but has not sniffed even the smallest of silverware and with Tottenham’s current situation, silverware might still not be a reality so moving to a perennial winner like Bayern gives him a higher chance of winning something.
Another decision Kane faces is whether he should move to Germany or stay in England and try to become the all-time goal-scorer in the Premier League. Manchester United’s interest in him presents this opportunity and this is where they have an added advantage over Bayern.
The England captain has scored 206 Premier League goals so far and is only 54 behind leading scorer Allan Shearer. Man United are currently looking for a striker to lead their line and they feel Kane could do that for them next season.
Kane will not come cheap, though. According to Transfermerkt, Kane is valued at £90 million so Bayern and Man United should prepare bids in that region. However, if he turns out to be overpriced, these clubs have options for young talents like Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos who have taken their respective leagues by storm this season.
