Manchester City defender Kylie Walker has said that the newly crowned Premier League champions ‘are not finished’ for this season
The right-back made these comments as City lifted the Premier League on Sunday for a fifth time in six seasons after defeating Chelsea 1-0 at Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side are still on course of winning a treble this season as they face Manchester United in the FA Cup final next month, before battling Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
“We will celebrate tonight and then move on to try and create history,” Walker told Sky Sports before adding;
“We always believed we could do this. This group of lads are professionals and winners.
“Rest assured we are not finished. We have the FA Cup against our bitter rivals and then the Champions League.
“The treble would be fantastic but there is a lot of football to be played. To say we are up there with one of the greatest Premier League teams of all time we have to conquer some of that. To go and achieve that we could then start talking about being one of the greatest teams in the Premier League.”
Manchester City becomes the second team to win three Premier League title in a row after their neighbors Manchester United, under Sir Alex Ferguson achieved that between 2006 and 2009.
After winning his fifth Premier League title, Pep Guardiola has become the 3rd most successful coach in the history of football (33) – just behind Alex Ferguson (49) and Mircea Lucescu (35)
