Sevilla head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has said that his side will not change their mentality or ideas against Man United even if Marcus Rashford returns from injury and plays.
The Spaniard made this comment while addressing the media ahead of his side’s quarterfinal second leg tie against United on Thursday.
“We’re not going to change our mentality or idea even if Rashford plays or not,” Mendilibar said before adding;
“Well, Rashford is one of the best players nowadays. We have to think about ourselves, respecting the opposite team but we don’t have to think about particular players.
“If Rashford plays, it’s because he’s ready. If he’s not, another top player will play there.”
Rashford is set to return from a groin injury that has kept him out for the last couple of games.
He has been United’s star player this season with 28 goals already in 47 games in all competitions.
The Reds Devils will surely need him back on Thursday in order to advance to the semi-final of the Europa League with their quarterfinal tie against Sevilla still poised at 2-2.
With United leading 2-0, Tyler Malacia and Harry Maguire netted in their own net late on in the first leg at Old Trafford to end with the scores level.
The winner between Manchester United and Sevilla will play either Juventus or Sporting Lisbon in the two-legged semifinal. Juventus leads the tie 1-0.
