Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag has demanded his player to step up if they’re to arrest their poor start to the season.
The Red Devils have won only four of their 10 games in all competitions, and currently sit 10th in the Premier League with only nine points.
Now following their sixth loss of the season to Galatasaray in the Champions League game in midweek, Ten Hag has urged his players to step up.
“We need to do the right things, be consistent and do it like before, so definitely you can mark such a moment like when we score or concede a goal. We have to step up.” Ten Hag said while addressing the media on Friday.
“It’s difficult, but you do research and look at it. We’ve spoken about it, how we can improve and we we make some agreements about that. I think it’s more than one factor, concentrations is one, but there’s other things.”
Having lost two consecutive games at home, Man United will be desperate to return to winning ways when they host Brentford at Old Trafford,
They face the Bees who have taken just two points from their last five matches at a perfect time. They will be hopeful to overcome their opponents as they try to get their season going.
Team News
Manchester United’s absentee list is long with Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Sergio Reguilon, Lisandro Martinez, Kobbie Mainoo, Amad Diallo and Tyrell Malacia all sidelined.
Jadon Sancho is also missing after being exiled from Ten Hag’s squad for improper behavior.
On a good note though, Antony is in contention for a first Premier game in a month after returning to training this week following his assault charges.
As for their visitors, there are no fresh concerns, but Brentford are also dealing with a number of absentees, including long-term knee victim and rumoured Man United transfer target Rico Henry.
Kevin Schade (groin), Shandon Baptiste (shoulder), Ben Mee (calf), Mikkel Damsgaard (knee) and Josh Dasilva (hamstring) will not be at Brentford’s disposal either, while Ivan Toney has returned to action behind closed doors. But he still has another three months of his suspension to serve before he graces the Premier League again.
Match Facts
Manchester United have won three of the four Premier League meetings between the two sides, losing the other 4-0.

Manchester United have been beaten in five of their past seven games in all competitions. They have lost six of their opening 10 matches in a season for the first time in 37 years.
United could lose at least five of their opening eight league games in a season for the first time since 1986, which happened weeks before Sir Alex Ferguson was appointed.
The Bees have gone six top-flight away games without a win (D2, L4).
