Manchester City defender Kyle Walker has heaped praise on Norwegian striker Erling Haaland after his incredible first season in England.
“Erling – what he has done in his first season – I don’t think many players have done that.” Walker told the official club website after City’s Premier League triumph over Arsenal on Wednesday.
“You have to take your hats off to him. The big man brings goals. He attracts players.
“When you’ve got the big man up front you need to utilise him. You need to play to people’s strengths.
“Erling is big, he’s tall, strong and he’s quick. We need to use that to our advantage.
“It’s a team game, there’s 11 of us on the pitch that move and create spaces for them to go and shine and show their qualities.”
In his first season in England, Haaland has scored 49 goals in 43 games in all competitions to guide City to the Champions League semi-final and put the Citizens within reach for a third successive Premier League title.
In the Premier League, he is currently on 33 goals – having scored against Arsenal on Wednesday to break the record for the most goals in a 38-game season.
