Bernardo Silva has extended his Manchester City contract by one more year, the English club has confirmed.
The midfielder’s contract was set to run out in 2025, but after the extension, he will be at the English Premier League Champions until 2026.
Silva had been linked with Barcelona, but now he has chosen to stay at a club which captured him from Monaco in 2017.
“I’ve had six incredible years at Manchester City and I’m delighted to extend my time here,” Silva said.
“Winning the Treble last season was extremely special and it’s exciting to be part of a squad where there is such a hunger and passion.
“Success makes you want even more, and this club gives me that opportunity to keep on winning. I love the manager, my team-mates and the fans and hope we can share even more great memories in the coming years.”
Since he joined the club, the 29-year old has won 12 trophies in total which include five Premier Leagues, two FA Cups, four EFL Cups and a UEFA Champions League.
Last season, he was involved in 15 goals in 55 games as City became only the second English side to win the historical treble
