Manchester United return to action in the FA Cup playing host to fellow Premier League outfit Fulham in the quarter finals on Sunday three days after progressing to the quarterfinals of the Europa League.
The Red Devils who are in pursuit of the quadruple advanced into the last eight of the Europa League on Thursday after dispatching Real Betis with a 5-1 aggregate win to book a date against the six-time winners Sevilla.
Erik Ten Hag’s side saw off Everton, Reading and Westham enroute to this stage winning 3-1 on each occasion. They will hope to repeat a similar display to go past a stubborn Fulham side.
Fulham eliminated Hull city, Sunderland and Leeds on their way to this round winning 2-0, 3-2 and 2-0 respectively. The Cottagers are playing their first quarter finals since the 2009/10 season when they faced Tottenham.
They last made it past this stage 20 years ago when Chelsea eliminated them in the semifinals with John Terry’s winner in the 2001/02 campaign. The Craven Cottage outfit will hope to better that year’s performance, and use the FA cup as a route to Europe due to the stiff competition for the slots in the league where they currently sit ninth.
