Six players shortlisted for the August EA Sports Player of the Month Award

Six players have been shortlisted for the August 2023 EA Sports Player of the Month Award.

The six include Nottingham Forest’s Taiwo Awoniyi, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, Brighton and Hove Albion’s Kaoru Mitoma, Manchester City’s Rodri and Spur’s James Madison.

Awoniyi scored in each of Nottingham Forest’s first three games of the season to extend his overall scoring streak to seven consecutive Premier League matches while Jarrod Bowen helped West Ham United to end August in second place after being involved in three goals.

For Madison,he was at the heart of almost everything at Spurs and contributed three goals as Spurs finished the month unbeaten.

Mbeumo used only his seven shots at goal to score a join-high three August goals in the absence of suspended Ivan Toney.

For Mitoma, he assisted his teammates more times (2) than anyone in the league in August. He also scored that sensational sole goal as Brighton defeated Wolverhampton Wanderers, and lso created 11 chances in the month.

The other nominee, Rodri matched his last season’s goal tally by scoring two goals in his club’s first four games. This included a late winner at Sheffield United while the scores were level at 1-all. He also made the most passes (361) in August in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, Ange Postecoglou, Mikel Arteta and David Moyes have been nominated for Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month

The winner of this Award will be announced on Friday 15 September.
